Diamond Heights is one of the most cohesive examples of Modernist architecture and urban planning in San Francisco.
I am an Architectural Historian/Cultural Resources Planner at Page & Turnbull in San Francisco, the current President of Docomomo US/Northern California, and on the Advisory Committee for the Glen Park Neighborhoods History Project. I wrote my master’s thesis for The University of Texas at Austin on Diamond Heights in 2017 and have given numerous walking tours of the neighborhood since. I’m excited to continue to share photographs, maps, and stories from this fascinating neighborhood and hope to encourage stewardship of the Modernist built heritage of Diamond Heights.
